Lemuria — Spring Launch

Lemuria’s spring candle launch, featuring four scents photographed as distinct visual worlds inspired by their individual scent stories.

Wolf Peach

Inspired by the tomato’s Latin name Lycopersicon, meaning “wolf peach,” this candle draws on folklore that once linked the fruit to transformation and wild desire. The scent leans deeply green and herbaceous, grounded in the earthy character of tomato leaf and garden soil.

Circe

On the shores of Aeaea, the sorceress Circe gathers shells and herbs before returning barefoot along the worn path to her cottage. Smoke drifts from the chimney as oregano bread finishes baking in the hearth, its crust dark and fragrant.

Inside, bottles and glass vials crowd the table beside bowls of olives and fresh Kalamata oil. A simple feast waits nearby, stuffed grape leaves, goat cheese, and warm bread laid out on a driftwood table.

At the open window she notices a ship approaching in the distance. Circe pauses, gathers herself, and reaches for her wand as she prepares the potion that will decide their fate.

Green Thumb

Morning sunlight filters through your eyelids, and you wake with the soft feeling of being a child again.

Outside, the backyard garden is already warm with late morning light. Your mother waters the gardenia bushes while the metallic scent of hose water drifts through the air.

You kneel in the damp soil searching for worms. They are still there. Bees buzz through the flowers, snails move slowly across the leaves, and birds call from the trees.

You reach up to pluck a ripe cucumber before settling into the rocking chair on the screened porch. Your feet rest on a bag of mulch as the scent of green leaves, fresh blooms, and wet soil fills the air.

For a moment, this small garden feels like the center of the world.
A place you can always return to.

Spring

You spread a blanket beneath a willow tree while the last of the morning dew clings to the grass. Above you, clouds drift slowly across a wide blue sky.

Snap pea vines climb a weathered fence nearby. A book and a mason jar of fresh celery juice sit beside you, waiting for their turn in the afternoon.

Then the sky fills with color. Dozens of kites rise into the breeze, gliding overhead and pulling your gaze upward.

The air feels cool and bright, carrying the watery, electric freshness that signals the beginning of spring.
