Library in a Forest

Editorial product photography for The New Savant, translating a candle into an immersive woodland world.

Created in the forests of Vermont, this series pairs product photography with environmental storytelling to build an atmosphere that extends beyond the candle itself.

Visual direction

Rather than recreating a forest in the studio, I photographed this series in the forests of Vermont, using natural light and found textures to build an authentic sense of place. Every element, from vintage books to moss-covered bark, was chosen to support the story while keeping the candle at the center of the composition.

The Story

Library in a Forest imagines the quiet discovery of a forgotten woodland library. Moss-covered logs, weathered books, and filtered summer light create a setting that feels both real and imagined, inviting viewers to step into the world surrounding the candle.

The Atmosphere

Environmental photographs give customers a glimpse into the world the fragrance evokes, making the product feel experienced rather than simply seen.

Product Storytelling

Every composition was designed to keep the candle unmistakably central while allowing it to exist naturally within the world surrounding the fragrance. The result is a versatile library of images that balances clear product visibility with rich environmental storytelling across web, social, and editorial use.
